Are you struggling with anxiety, effects of trauma, relationship challenges, depression? If so, you're not alone. I specialize in helping individuals better understand how their past has impacted them.  As a therapist and founder of Southern Maryland Mental Health, LLC, I can help you navigate these challenges and find your way to healing. I offer individual therapy, and use a variety of therapeutic approaches including Brainspotting and EMDR to help you reach your goals.

My previous experience working as a school psychologist and current experience as a therapist, gives me the unique ability to provide therapeutic services for children, teens, adults and families. Using a person-centered approach, I create a therapeutic space that celebrates neurodiversity and embraces each individual's strengths and challenges. I offer free consultations, so please contact me today to schedule an appointment.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania and offer therapy via telehealth to Pennsylvania residents. Additionally, I am a Professional Counselor telehealth provider for South Carolina (#1003). In Maryland, I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) under supervision of Rebecca Bickel LC1967, and have availability for both in person and telehealth for Maryland residents.

My journey began as a mobile therapist in Pennsylvania in 2003, where I provided individual and family therapy in the home, community and provided school based therapeutic services. From there, I obtained a Masters of Science in School Psychology at Millersville University in Pennsylvania, and have been a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) since 2007. In 2016, I completed a rigorous certification in School Neuropsychology and received a diplomate from the American Board of School Neuropsychology (ABSNP). Recently, I completed Phase 1 and 2 of Brainspotting training. Additionally, I completed Phase 1 and 2 of Eye Movement and Desensitization (EMDR) and am working toward EMDR certification. Throughout my career, I have provided therapy to families and individuals across the lifespan.

Providing a judgement-free zone, and building a strong relationship with each client is important. I strive to support clients and families in developing more adaptive ways of coping with stressors and to empower clients to utilize their strengths to overcome challenges. Together, we will explore the complexities of your situation and develop a plan to help you move forward. I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, and am here to support you on your journey.
