Linda Woehlke is a contractor at Southern Maryland Mental Health.

Congratulations on taking the first step in your journey to feeling better and facing your fears. It is never easy to take the first step. Whether you are looking for help with a specific situation or an ongoing problem, I am here to help support and guide you through the process. As both a Clinical Social Worker and a School Counselor, I have worked with a diverse group of people experiencing many mental health needs. This includes things such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, mood disorders, and family dysfunction. I have also worked with all age groups to include children, pre-teens, adolescents, and adults.

Therapy is not easy. It requires you to be vulnerable, honest with yourself and others, and willing to make changes necessary for positive results. Together we can explore your past, identify your current goals, and create a plan to move forward. I have an integrative approach to therapy which means I look at each client and their situation individually and work with you to discover what it is you are looking for in therapy. Whether it is individual therapy, group therapy, or family therapy, my hope is that you leave each session having gained more knowledge, insight, confidence, and skills than you came with. But I cannot do it alone. You are the most important part of your sessions. Without your willingness to do the work, nothing changes. Therapy is an individual growth even when done in a group or family setting. You will get out of therapy what you put into it, so if you are ready to take the next step let’s get started.

I currently have my Master’s Degree in Social Work and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 23 years having worked in the foster care system, outpatient mental health, inpatient psychiatric care, and alternative education. I also have my Master's Degree in School Counseling and have worked at both the middle school and high school level. My experience in both career fields has allowed me to gain extensive experience working with people of all ages from a variety of backgrounds. Each individual and family brings their own set of circumstances to the table, allowing me the opportunity to enter their world during some of their most vulnerable times. Where we go from here is up to you.
